Bellair School House 2018

A small, single-room schoolhouse out in the middle of nowhere and directly next to
Bellair Cemetery. There is some history of an altercation on the front steps of the schoolhouse which led a death. This cemetery survey starts with Row 1 on the far east side of the cemetery, and Grave 1 starts from the south end and goes to the north end of the cemetery. All other rows do the same.

A number of years ago there was a murder that took place almost across the street from the schoolhouse that might have some bearing on the ghostly activity reported in the area.

Numerous EVPs have been collected in the building from time to time.

The Ghost Research Society investigated Bellair School House August 3, 2018 and the team members included: Jim Piscopo, Mike Rosario and Dale Kaczmarek, with help from Jason Snider, Jason Dickerson, Riley Miller and Courtney Bowen from Crawford County Illinois Ghost Hunters Society

Equipment setup: A Tri-Field Natural EM Meter and a Melmeter were deployed. Other hand-held devices like digital recorders, Ovilus X, Phasma Box, infrared camcorders with supplemental IR lighting were also used.

Experiments performed: Ovilus X and Phasma Box sessions were held in the building.

Personal experiences:

Dale Kaczmarek: I saw what appeared to be some movement or a shadow figure near the main doorway leading into the building during an EVP session. There were some strange light-like formations that others reported while in the building.

Evidence collected:

Nothing of significance was collected on the Ovilus X in phonetic mode or the Phasma Box; however a lot of relevant words were heard and recorded on the Ovilus X in dictionary mode.

Conclusions: This was the last investigation on August 3^rd of a very exhausting day and the session lasted a little over an hour. What impressed me the most was that we were investigating a former schoolhouse and the amount of words that came through the Ovilus X in dictionary mode that were relevant to a schoolhouse including: division, system, opposite, without, language, mistake, spell and circle.

These words would be words that could have been used by teachers and school children alike while they were learning here at the Bellair Schoolhouse.
